David Phelps

David Phelps began investing in real estate while still in dental school in 1980. His first joint venture partner was his father, whom David convinced to be the financial partner in a rental property that David managed during professional training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. After graduating dental school in 1983, he never looked back and began a steady and continuous progression in real estate education and investment for the remainder of his practice career. “Creating multiple streams of income that would provide for me and my family, in an emergency, for college tuition, and for retirement, was always a primary goal.”

As a result of what became a new-found freedom, David quickly went to part-time practice and subsequently stopped being the provider of dental treatment and ran his practice remotely for another six years before selling to one of the associate dentists.

David now spends his time serving professional practice and business owners in the Freedom Founders Mastermind group

Mary particularly enjoys empowering others with the knowledge to live a financially successful life and the means to pass that wealth onto loved ones – which she considers to be the ultimate love letter! Although Mary enjoys the practice of law, she knows she can empower more people through education and the idea of the Knowledge is Money Summit was born out of this desire to help more people enrich their lives through financial knowledge! Mary believes that financial literacy is missing in the lives of most Americans as financial education is not generally taught in the school system and she hopes to help raise awareness of the importance of financial knowledge to the quality of life of all Americans.

Mary established Hart Law in 2006 in Asheville. She has been voted the #1 attorney in Asheville by MtnXpress (a local independent publication) readers twice in recent years. She is also the owner of Sunstone 1031 Exchange, LLC which serves as a Qualified Intermediary and Exchange Accommodation Titleholder for Section 1031 like-kind tax-deferred exchanges.

Al Williamson

My name is Al Williamson. I’m a civil engineer and the author of the Building Wealth with Inner City Rentals. Creating surprisingly beautiful affordable housing is my passion.

It took me seven years, but I figured out how to create enough side income (income over and beyond my market rate rents) to cover the monthly mortgage of my apartment building. I packaged all the ideas I tried and investigated into a book called 40 Ways to Increase the Net Income of Your Rental Property.
